ACL DIRECTOR BENEFITS:

The American Cornhole League is excited to introduce our new Club Model, a groundbreaking initiative designed to elevate the game at the grassroots level. With this model, individual cornhole clubs now have the opportunity to shine by promoting their own events and establishing unique statistical standings based on their club’s activities. This means that clubs can host and organize their own tournaments, track player performance, and create a competitive environment tailored to their community. By empowering clubs to manage and showcase their events, we aim to foster a more dynamic and engaging cornhole experience, celebrating the spirit of local competition while enhancing the overall growth of the sport.

National Directors

National Directors (NDs) are full-time ACL employees dedicated to supporting Area Managers and all director levels. They also manage the ACL Open Series and other large national events.

Area Managers

Area Managers (AMs) oversee and communicate with State, Regional, and Club Directors within their area's boundaries. They are also responsible for organizing State, Regional, and Local level ACL-points events using any of the tournament formats listed below. Area Managers are contracted by the ACL.

State Directors

State Directors (SDs) oversee and communicate with Regional and Club Directors within their state's boundaries. They are responsible for organizing two state-level events: the State Championship and an Interstate event. SDs have access to organize State, Regional, and Local level ACL-points events using any of the tournament formats listed below. State Directors are assigned by the Area Managers.

Regional Directors

Regional Directors (RDs) oversee a specific region and the Local Directors within that region. They are responsible for organizing monthly regional events. RDs have access to organize Regional and Local level ACL-points events using any of the tournament formats listed below. Regional Directors are selected and approved by State Directors each June-July through an application process, with successful applicants typically announced at the end of July.

Club Directors

Club Directors (CDs) can organize unlimited Local level ACL-points events using any of the tournament formats listed below. Local events typically include weekly blind draws, leagues, and independent weekend tournaments.

Basic Directors

Basic Directors can use the ACL software at no charge for non-ACL-points events, taking advantage of many of the features and formats available in the software. Directors at this level can upgrade during the season.

High School / College

High School and College Directors can use the ACL software at no charge. However, ACL points cannot be awarded for events at this level. Directors at this level can upgrade during the season.

SINGLE ELIMINATION

A single-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament in which a participant is no longer eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost one match.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION

A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost two matches.

ACL STACK

A Stack format tournament is a type of elimination tournament in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost two matches but will continue to play in the tournament until a final placement has been secured. Once a player loses her/his second game, she/he is dropped into a lower stack and will continue to play matches in that Stack until she/he has a final standing. Unlike Single and Double elimination, there are no ties in the final standings of a Stack format.

ACL SWAP

ACL Swap is a round robin format where players are randomly assigned to a different doubles partner each round of the tournament. Players are ranked individually and the results are typically used to place players with a partner for a single or double elimination tournament.

ACL ROUNDERS

ACL Rounders is a progressive round robin format. Teams/players compete against a random opponent in the first round. In subsequent rounds, teams/players will compete against an opponent with a similar record to them (1-0 vs 1-0, 3-2 vs 3-2, etc.) Results from Rounders are typically used to place teams/players into a single or double elimination tournament and can be used to divide players/teams into various skill levels (Open format).

ACL VIRTUAL

ACL Virtual allows players to compete against players from other parts of the world using any of the formats above by posting live videos through Facebook and real-time scoring through the ACL software.

ACL TEAMS

ACL Teams allows groups of 3+ to compete against other teams in singles and doubles formats. Win a majority of the games within a match and your team wins!

Open Events

The ACL offers at least 16 US Open events and 5 Canadian Open events per season. Open events are available to all players and typically include both Pro and Amateur divisions.

State Events

Each state offers two state events per season: an Interstate event, which is open to all players, and a State Championship, which is only available to players who reside in the state. State events include singles and doubles competitions with various divisions for different skill levels, and often feature specialty events dedicated to Women's, Juniors, and Seniors.

Regional Events

Regions offer between 7 and 10 regional events per season, typically one per month. Regional events are open to all players and usually feature singles, doubles, and blind draw (random partner) formats with divisions for different skill levels. Regional events can contribute to the Regional Director's Club Standings.

Local Events

All paid directors can organize an unlimited number of local events throughout the season. Local events are typically random partner events, with players competing either together or divided into 2-3 skill level divisions. Local level events are included in the Director's Club Standings.
