FEATURING UP TO FOUR minor league teams for each of the 16 ACL Pro Teams.

ACL MINOR LEAGUE TEAMS

WHAT’s IT ALL ABOUT?

Each ACL Minor League Team is competing for a share of a $50,000 prize pool allocated to Minor League Teams season.

SEASON DETAILS + FORMAT:

  • Each ACL Minor League Team will earn points towards their ranking based on their finishes at each ACL Open. Standings will count the teams’ best 3 Round Robin finishes (max 100pts each = 300pts) and best 3 Elimination Round (max 300pts each = 900pts) finishes for a total of 1,200 maximum points.
  • The top 50% of the teams will advance to the Championship bracket at the 2024 ACL World Championships. The bottom 50% of the teams will compete in a Consolation bracket.
  • Each ACL Minor League Team can consist of up to a 14 player roster and one non-player manager. Each team consists of ACL Elite and ACL Platinum level players.
  • Each ACL Minor League Team will compete at eight ACL Opens plus the ACL World Championship.
  • At each ACL Open a team will use 6 of their players to create 3 doubles teams.
  • Each of these 3 teams compete together in a best of 3 matchup between another minor league team. If a team wins 2 of their 3 doubles games they will take a win to move through the bracket.
  • Each game is limited to 12 rounds or the first team to 21 points, whichever occurs first.
  • Each Open format will be a round robin followed by a Single Elimation bracket.

FAQ'S

What is the deadline to drop/add players to a team?

  • Up to 14 players on a roster
  • Add/Drop Deadline Jan 29th, 2025
  • Can drop/add players but no trading

Which Opens will have Minor League Teams events?

  • Opens #3-#12.
  • Managers should submit their rosters using their Organizational Spreadsheet by the Wednesday before each Open (be sure to include all players on your roster, not just the ones competing at the Open)

What format will be used in a Minor League Teams event?

  • Three doubles games (six players) play each match. The team that wins the best of three games wins the match.
  • Each game is limited to 12 rounds or the first team to 21 points, whichever occurs first.

How many events count towards Minor League Teams standings?

  • The top 3 Open finishes will count towards standings.
  • The top 50% of the teams going in to ACL World Championships will compete in the Championship bracket with $50,000 prize pool.

What is the entry fee and payout structure for Minor League Teams at each Open event?

  • $240/team entry fee
  • 50% payout (for players on roster who attend the Open, regardless of playing)

What is the player payout structure?

  • No difference in payout between Elite and Platinum members.
  • Any player on the roster who attends an Open (plays or not) will be included in prize pool.
  • Players on team get paid based on the number of events they attend (even if they don’t play).

Can we customize our Minor League Teams jerseys?

  • Below is a design sample. Each jersey will feature the city name on the front and back, last name on the back. Minor League Teams can have up to two team sponsors (one per sleeve). If there is only one sponsor the sponsor logo will replace the existing logo on the left sleeve. Teams can also add their cornhole club logo on the upper-left chest above the city name.

What is the process for ordering jerseys?

  • Do players/managers pay for their own team jerseys? YES (or sponsors)
  • Do they need home and away team jerseys? NO - just one jersey
  • What names can go on the jerseys? Last name, on the back
  • Vendor to supply jerseys - TBD. Will provide Directors with Jersey Submission process
  • Can a team have sponsors on the jersey? Yes. All ACL Minor League Teams can have up to two sponsors (one per sleeve). If there is only one sponsor then the sponsor logo will replace the existing logo on the left sleeve. The sponsors are the same for each teammate on a team. Teams can also add their cornhole club logo on the upper-left chest on the front for each jersey above the city name. The club logo must be the same for each teammate on a team.

Can we create a social media team page for our Minor League Team?

Will Minor League Teams have conferences similar to Pro Teams?

  • Will the standings be broken up by conferences and divisions like Pro Teams? NO - All one division

How do we earn points during a Minor League Teams event?

  • 100 max points for Round Robin (count for Teams rankings, not personal rankings)
  • 300 max points for Single Elimination (count for Teams rankings, not personal rankings)

How do we create our Minor League Teams?

  • Application process for each area posted to the Directors group. Up to each director to create their team
  • Players have to be from one of the states affiliated with the Pro team

Can players be managers?

  • Yes - players can be managers

Can a player “quit” a team and join another team?

  • No - once a player agrees to be on the team they cannot quit until they are released/dropped.

Is there a standard for what a player/team "contract" should look like?

  • No - not for the first season but ACL will deal with any disputes this season and re-evaluate after the season.

If a team sends enough players to an open to have 2-3 teams, is that allowed?

  • No - just one team per affiliate. There will be an additional Open Teams event at each of these events.

If a player gets “called up” are they still eligible to play in the Minor League Teams events?

  • They are as long as they have not been called up to the Pro team that is playing at the same time. Depending on schedule, the player might be able to play in both.

Can any Elite player get “called up” to play in the ACL Pro Teams event?

  • Only Elite players who are on an active minor league roster can get called up to play in an ACL Pro Teams event.

When is the deadline to submit a Minor League Team?

  • January 29th 2025 is the final day to submit a Minor League Team.
