The 2025 ACL Pro Teams season will see some changes to help bring a new level of excitement to the competition!
Overview
All ACL Pros will be drafted into 16 teams and compete head to head across the season in Teams matchups. Teams will compete in regular season five game series against other teams. The top two team records in each of the four regions through the regular season according to overall game record advance to the single elimination playoffs at the 2025 ACL World Championships. Each game in the ACL Pro Teams season will be limited to 12 rounds in 2025.
In each five game series, there will be two singles games, one doubles game, one tandem doubles game (both players throw from the same side of the board), and one crew cup game for a total of 10 players competing in the series. Teams are required to play a minimum of one woman in each series.
Teams
Like last season, teams will be regionally affiliated and will feature a Captain, and Assistant Captain, and four additional pre-filled player positions selected by the team Captain and Assistant Captain from the previous year’s roster.
Teams will be split into two divisions, National and American. Each division is divided into two regions. The American Division will feature a North Region and a South Region. The National Division will feature a West Region and a Central Region. As mentioned above, the top two records from each region will advance to the Playoffs at the 2025 ACL World Championships.

Roster
Each team will have 12 players at the conclusion of the draft. The total roster cap for the team is 15. The remaining three roster spots may be filled by free agent pro players on the ACL Pro Tour, ACL Women’s Pro Tour, ACL Senior Pro Tour, or ACL Junior Pro Tour. ACL Elite players may also be acquired by Pro Teams but each team can only carry one Elite player on the roster at any time. Teams can add players to their roster via the waiver wire during the regular season up until the transaction deadline, as long as they do not exceed the 15 player cap max. Teams can also release players as free agents from the roster. Pros that are released by a team are free to be picked up by another Pro Team, but Elite players may only be called up by the Team that corresponds to their affiliate state. Each team must also carry a minimum of two women on the roster at all times.
The waiver wire is processed in the reverse order of the current Pro Teams standings, or in the reverse order of the draft order if it is before the first Pro Teams event. Waiver claims for free agents must be submitted before Monday morning each week at 9 am ET, and waiver claims are processed by 12 pm ET on Wednesday each week. There is a second waiver processing each week that happens by 12 pm ET on Friday for those that miss the Monday window.
Teams can also trade players with other teams before the transaction deadline. The captains are the only players not eligible to be traded or released at any point throughout the season. The first two draft picks by each team are also ineligible to be released during the season, unless there are extenuating circumstances approved by the ACL.
The ACL Commissioner may veto any trade or transaction at any time, to maintain integrity of the season. The transaction deadline is two weeks after the Sunday of the third ACL Pro Signature event. After this time, no trades can be processed and no players can be released from the roster.
In the event that there is a discrepancy on lineups, roster additions, player releases, or trades, the primary team captain has the ultimate authority.
Draft
The 2025 ACL Pro Teams draft will be October 5th. The draft will be 6 rounds and all players on the ACL Pro Tour, ACL Women’s Pro Tour, ACL Senior Pro Tour, and ACL Junior Pro Tour are eligible to be drafted. The first round of the draft will be the reverse order of the ranking of all 6 returning players via Pro Singles rankings on the roster. Following the first round, the draft will be a snake draft starting with the reverse order of the ACL Pro Teams standings from last season.
